      The Museum was opened in 1981 in memory of the distinguished scientist Mstislav V. KELDYSH, mathematician and mechanician, President of the RAS, founder and director of the Institute of Applied Mathematics. Its is located at the Institute and occupied the Scientist's former office.
      The exibits have come from the Presidium of the RAS while the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet has handed over to the Museum the Scientist's rewards, and the family has presented his diplomas, gowns, badges of honour and medals. The Museun funds include films and photographs, library, miniature models of space shipes as well as the documents indicative of valuable contribution made by M.V.Keldysh to the development of computanshinal mathematics and mechanics, the country's aviation and austronautics.
